Nine Hill students assist with community service project

On Monday, September 19, nine students from The Hill’s Community Service Group began assisting Montgomery County Community College in tending to trees in order to help prepare for the Schuylkill River Festival.

With the guidance and assistance of Bob Folwell, a landscape architect and Trails Project Manager at the Schuylkill River Trails association, the students learned a few basics of tree tending. Students weeded, moved mulch away from the trunks of trees and removed any twine binding or inhibiting the growth of the trees.

The students began the project on Monday, September 19, and returned on Monday, September 26 to finish the work.
