Hill's athletics teams will open Mid Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) play this afternoon as the Rams play host to visiting Peddie School. All contests save boys' water polo are scheduled to start at 3:30; water polo will play Malvern Prep at 3:45.
The football team looks to get its first victory of the season against the Falcons. "We certainly did not plan to be 0-3 heading into our first league game," said head coach Grey Simpson in an interview with
The Pottstown Mercury, "but I still believe we have a group that can compete for the MAPL title. Our goal is to win the MAPL, and we're 0-0 in the league right now."
Another noteworthy story line is that today's field hockey game is first-year coach Julie deLaurentis' first game against her former team. DeLaurentis is a 2005 graduate of Peddie and captained the Falcons' field hockey team. Her father, Frank, was Hill's head football coach from 1987-96 and is now the head football coach for Peddie.
Please note that the varsity boys' soccer game will be played on the track field, and the varsity girls' game will be played at the far fields.
