On October 13, 2011, 80 Hill School students took the first Pennsylvania Math Contest of the year in the Academic Center. The 30-minute contest had six questions, each yielding one point. The topics include geometry, algebra, trigonometry, logarithms, series, exponents, roots, integers, real numbers, combinations, probability, and coordinates. For the first contest, Ji Park ‘12 was the only Hill student to receive a perfect six. Ten Hill students earned a five, including Berk Cagilci ’13, Poom Khunsriraksakul ’12, Youngbin Kim ’15, Nicole Kwon ’13, Taehoon Lee ’13, Andy Mcclung ’14, Nabil Shaikh ’13, Bill Wang ’13, Nick Wang ’13, and Vivek Venkatesh ’12. There are five more contests throughout the year, with the next one on November 10.
