Similar to professional soccer games, faculty children processed onto the field with members of Hill and Charterhouse soccer teams
Hill's athletics teams capped off a successful Parents' Weekend with an incredibly strong showing in Saturday's games, posting an 8-1-1 record in varsity competition. Boys' and girls' cross country, football, boys' golf, girls' soccer, girls' tennis, and boys' and girls' water polo all defeated their opponents, and the boys' soccer team played to a thrilling 4-4 draw against 2010 English Independent School champions Charterhouse. - Boys' cross country utilized a 1-2-3 finish from Quinn Davis '12, Luke Andersen '14 and Jordan Trout '14 to defeat George School 25-30. Cooper Oberbeck '13 and Varun Yerram '14 placed ninth and tenth, respectively, to round out the scoring for Hill.
- Led by Monica Redfern '15, girls' cross country took five of the top six spots to cruise to a 19-44 victory over George School. Rounding out the girls' scorers were Kim Breeding '13 in third place, Bronwyn Dewey '13 in fourth, Mary Kate McArdle '15 in fifth, and Kaila Jeter '15 in sixth.
- Boys' golf won five of six 18 hole matches to defeat visiting Mercersburg Academy 5-1 in match play.
- Boys' soccer played to a thrilling 4-4 draw in a back-and-forth contest against Hill's sister school from England, Charterhouse. Hill is hosting Charterhouse's soccer team, which is visiting the United States as a celebration of the school's 400th anniversary. They will play Peddie and Lawrenceville before heading to Washington, D.C., where they will face Georgetown Prep and Episcopal High School and tour the Nation's capital.
- Deanna Mayza '13 scored four goals and added an assist as girls' soccer defeated Archbishop Carrol 5-0. Mary Edwards '12 scored Hill's fifth goal and Schuyler Metzger '14 also had an assist for Hill, who outshot Carrol 29-6 on the afternoon.
- Girls' tennis cruised to a 5-0 victory over Archbishop Carrol. Cat Anderson '12, Mackenzie LeClair '14, and Courtney Mauk '14 each won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0, while doubles teams Molly Esbenshade '13/Claire Maree O'Bryan '12 won 6-2, 6-0 and Kathleen Smith '12/Blair Bellis '12 won 6-1, 6-1.
- Post-Grad Robert Sutherland's eight-goal effort paced boys' water polo to a 24-13 victory over Pingry School. Richard Thomas '12 added four goals, while Gil Ravenel '13, Patrick Carmody '13, and Caleb Vinch '15 each scored a pair of goals. Every player on the team roster saw playing time and contributed to the decisive victory.
- Girls' water polo got four goals and three assists from Maddison Marcheskie '14 in a 10-3 victory over Episcopal Academy. Emma Woodcock '12 posted two goals and three assists and Addy Colona '12 also added two goals. Lyndsey Marcheskie '12 and Megan Konen '13 rounded out the scoring for Hill, and goalkeepers Colona and Sarah Sovia '13 combined for eight saves and four steals on the afternoon.
