Sam Green '13 (Newtown, Pa.) JV Boys’ Soccer
Sam was the stand-out player on Saturday as the team beat previously undefeated Haverford 1-0. He organized the defense well and made several timely saves throughout the match, none bigger than a breakaway save in the dying moments to preserve the win.
Cassidy Jemo '12 (Gilbertsville, Pa.) JV Girls’ Cross Country
Cassidy set a new personal best by 2:34 from her time a few weeks ago and led the JV team in a very close race. Despite the 28-29 loss, Cassidy had a great run and more importantly has demonstrated great sixth form leadership to the younger girls. She works hard and never gives up.
Deanna Mayza '13 (Pennsburg, Pa.) Varsity Girls’ Soccer
Deanna scored four goals and added an assist in the girls varsity soccer team to a convincing 5-0 win over Archbishop Carroll.
Joey Monzo '13 (Gilbertsville, Pa.) Varsity Boys’ Soccer
Joey had a goal and an assist in a memorable 4-4 draw with Charterhouse School and a goal in a 4-0 win over Princeton Day School
Sydney Munro '14 (Phoenixville, Pa.) JV Field Hockey
Sydney has been relentless in the midfield this season. Her stick work has improved tremendously and she effectively uses her dodges to move the ball to the attack. She has had numerous assists and notched her own goal as well. She gives it all she has every day in practice, and even more so during the game with her selfless play.
Mary Patrinostro '13 (Pottstown, Pa.) JV Girls’ Water Polo
Mary’s goaltending in the deep end of the pool has improved dramatically this year. She did not allow a goal in the deep end against Penn Charter, making five great saves in one quarter.
Monica Redfern '15 (Ringwood, Ill.) Varsity Girls’ Cross Country
Monica led her team to a dominating 19-44 victory over the George School with 22:48. Not only did she win the girls’ race, but her time is the 18th fastest time ever run by a Hill runner on the Brookside course, and it was only her second time ever to race the course. Her improvement each week is a key to the team’s success this season.
