Friday, November 11 was Dougherty day. In honor of Headmaster and Mrs. Dougherty, students either dressed up in a bow-tie, button down shirt, and blue jeans, or wore jogging suits - Mr. and Mrs. Dougherty frequently take jogs through town together. During lunch announcements, girls' varsity soccer players Mary Edwards '12, Lizzie Sullivan '12, and Shannon Ruane '12 presented Mr. Dougherty with the plaque the team received after winning the PAISAA State Championship yesterday. After the girls' presentation, Mr. Tom Walter '87, head baseball coach at Wake Forest University who made national headlines in February for donating a kidney to one of his baseball players, spoke briefly about how rewarding the experience of giving to someone in need has been for him.
