| Zachary Gimbel Lehman |
This morning (November 14, 2011), Zachary Gimbel Lehman was named as The Hill School’s 11th headmaster, to begin July 1, 2012. The appointment was made following a unanimous vote by the Board of Trustees, which assembled on campus today for an early morning meeting.
Zack will come to The Hill after serving for six years as the assistant head of school for advancement at Gould Academy, a coeducational 9th through 12th grade and postgraduate year boarding school in Bethel, Maine. A
magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Zack also distinguished himself at Dartmouth College, where he earned a B.A. degree in geography, with
cum laude and
Phi Beta Kappa distinctions. Prior to Dartmouth, Zack attended Phillips Exeter Academy for four years. Zack and his wife, Amy Cassidy Lehman, have two sons, Mitchell (13) and Griffin (11), and a daughter, Avery (8).

The announcement was made in Alumni Memorial Chapel, first to faculty and staff and then, in a separate announcement, to current Hill students who took time from a morning, pre-examination reading period to participate in this historic occasion. The announcement was made by Chairman of The Hill School Board of Trustees Thomas McN. Millhiser ’67 and Marshall F. Wallach ’61, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Search Committee.
