Student gives moving Chapel talk
Wes with his parents, Richard and Margaret, and sister, Maggie
“My name is Wes Schlauch and I go to The Hill School.” That was the first line of Wes Schlauch’s moving Chapel talk on Monday, January 9, 2012. His opening statement is a phrase that most Hill students take for granted. However, Wes had a long journey back to The Hill so he was extremely proud to say those words to his peers on the stage of the Center For The Arts. After his talk, he received a long standing ovation from the audience. Read Wes's talk here.

On February 2, 2010, Wes suffered a basilar artery stroke as a result of a blood clot in the brain; the stroke left him paralyzed. After nearly two years of hard work and a positive spirit, Wes has made incredible progress and returned to The Hill this year as a fifth form student. He has been warmly welcomed by The Hill community and expressed his happiness of being back at Hill in today’s talk, which is available to read here.

During his talk, Wes showed a video clip that appeared on a local program, Tempo InDepth. View that video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc28l-3bFuA
