Hans Brase '12 arrived at The Hill in 2010 looking for a place to hone his academics and his basketball game to a level where he could attend and play basketball for an academically strong Division I school. Through hours of hard work in the classroom and on the court, Hans achieved his goal with his recent acceptance to Princeton University as the top member of the Tigers Men's Basketball 2012 recruiting class.
The Lake Wylie, S.C. native took a serious interest in basketball in middle school, and played for his school's varsity team as a freshman. After his junior year, Hans, who was young for his grade, decided that attending prep school and repeating his junior year would be the best step in his academic and athetic development.
"I had been thinking about boarding school," Hans said in an interview with Jeff Stover of The Pottstown Mercury. "My school's coach and athletic director had heard of The Hill and told us about it. We checked it out, and we liked it."
