Students returned to campus from winter break on Tuesday, January 3 geared up for 2012 and ready to get back to the school routine, which students eased into with a half day on Wednesday. Following Wednesday’s classes, several students and faculty members traveled to Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, to watch the varsity boys’ hockey team take on archrival Lawrenceville on an outdoor rink installed for the NHL Winter Classic. The team erased a late 2-0 deficit by scoring twice in the final minute of play, including the tying goal with 2.8 seconds left, to earn a thrilling 2-2 tie.
Saturday night was the always popular Casino Night. On Casino Night, the CFTA lobby is transformed into a casino with several different games. Students and faculty sign up to be dealers and work each game.
On Sunday afternoon, students had the opportunity to challenge their friends in different video games when the Rolling Games Station visited campus. Rolling Games Station is a trailer that contains four big screen TVs, hundreds of video games, and several big leather chairs for competitors to game in style. Several students and faculty children visited the station while it was on campus.
