While most students were at home relaxing over winter vacation, Charles Worrilow '13 and his Lehigh Valley Skyhawks teammates traveled to Tampa, Fla. to participate in the National Lacrosse Championship. In August, the Skyhawks won the regional tournament to qualify for Nationals, and spent the fall and early winter months preparing to face some of the top lacrosse players in the nation. The Skyhawks won the first four games of the round robin, double elimination tournament to advance to the semi-finals before ultimately falling to a nationally ranked team with three players who recently committed to the University of Virginia to play lacrosse.
"It was fun playing teams from all over the country," said Charles, who is in his fifth year playing with the Skyhawks. "The competition was tough, as we routinely faced players who have already committed to play Division I lacrosse in college, but as a team we were excited about the challenge and really came together. Obviously we would have liked to have finished higher than fourth, but it was a great overall experience."
