How does The Hill improve sustainability on campus?
Improving campus sustainability begings with a conscious effort to use resources wisely. Sometimes this involves an institutional change like a committment to purchasing Energy Star qualified appliances or recycled products.

However, it also can involve an individual commitment, like pledging to use cold water when washing clothing. For instance, many Hill students and faculty members purchase a reusable mug in the student bookstore. This allows them to save $0.50 every time they purchase a large coffee. However, in addition to saving money, students and faculty members who faithfully wash and reuse their mugs throughout the school year will use fewer resources and produce less solid waste.
