| Week of January 23 to 29, 2012

| The second list of the Winter Term began on January 23, and for the first two days of the new list students and faculty participated in the annual Symposia Days. These days provide both students and teachers the opportunity to break routine and look at their subject matter in a new light. Each class period is extended an additional 50 minutes (90 minutes total), giving teachers a chance to present learning material in a fun and creative way.
On the evening of Monday, January 23, The Hill's Confucius Classroom hosted a concert that showcased music by the quartet called Music From China. Members of The Hill community and Pottstown community were treated to music that evoked sounds ranging from a raging typhoon to a jungle filled with birds, from a parade of horses to a New Year's celebration.
On Friday night, the Class of 2013 sponsored a Broomball tournament in support of the Travis Roy Foundation. Ten teams entered the round-robin tournament, and a team comprised of hockey team members took home the tournament championship. During the 2009-2010 school year, the class of 2013 made a commitment to support the Travis Roy Foundation throughout their four years at Hill, and so far the class has raised more than $5,500 for the Foundation. On Saturday night, the SPICE club sponsored a Bollywood dance in the CFTA. |
