The Hill School’s Day Squash Center will play host to the boys’ and girls’ MAPL Championship tournaments on Saturday, February 18. The girls’ tournament begins at noon, and the boys’ begins at 2 p.m.

Both tournaments will be divided into four draws (brackets) based on players’ positions on their team’s respective ladders. The A draw features each of the four team’s number one and two players; the B draw each team’s three and four players; the C draw each team’s five and six players; and the D draw each team’s seven and eight players. Players are then ranked within each draw and compete in a bracket similar to NBA and NHL playoff brackets, with the top seed playing the eighth seed, the second seed playing the seventh seed, etc. with each winner advancing to the next round until a draw winner is determined.

The winning player of each match earns points toward an overall team score. Players earn one point for winning a regulation match, and half a point for winning a consolation match. The total number of points accumulated by each team’s players constitute that team’s overall point total, and the team with the most points wins the team championship. The top four finishers in the A bracket and the winners of the B, C, and D brackets comprise the All-MAPL team.
