Tyler Mueller '10 is off to a fast start for Lehigh University's Men's Cross Country team in 2012. The former Hill cross country captain claimed a first place finish with a time of 18:24 in the season-opening Lehigh Invitational, which helped pace the Mountain Hawks to a first place team finish out of 10 teams. Tyler, who currently is a co-captain for Lehigh, also claimed a first place finish in the team's second meet of the season, a dual meet against rival Lafayette College. Tyler ran the 8K course in 24:54 to lead Lehigh to its 14th consecutive victory over Lafayette by a score of 16-47.
"Tyler has really shown that he is capable of being amongst some of the top guys in the league," said Lehigh's head coach, Todd Etters. "A couple of times today he just looked completely comfortable and completely in control. It’s great to see a guy that works that hard and has that kind of talent, be as mentally tough as he is."
