||Brackets and schedules for the 2018 Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) field hockey, boys’ soccer, and girls’ soccer tournaments have been released. The action for Hill teams begins on Wednesday, October 31 when boys’ soccer hosts Friends Central. Below are previews of each sport:
Fourth-seed Hill will host fifth-seed Agnes Irwin School in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, November 6 at 3:45 PM. The teams previously met this past Friday night, with Hill winning by a comfortable 6-0 score. The game will be broadcast on Local Live.
The field hockey competition begins with a play-in game between the 8th and 9th seeded teams and then takes on a traditional eight-team bracket format in which the top seed plays the lowest, second seed plays the seventh, and so forth. The teams are re-seeded after each round.
The Hill boys’ soccer team, ranked fifth, will host 12-seed Friends Central School on Wednesday, October 31. The match will kick off at 5 PM on Harry Price Field, and will be broadcast on Local Live for fans who are unable to make it to campus. Wednesday will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams. The Phoenix enter the match with a record of six wins, three losses, and five draws, having played several tight, low-scoring matches this season.
Hill will travel to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy to take on the defending PAISAA champion Hillers on Thursday, November 1 for a 3:30 PM match. In the previous meeting between the teams in late-September, a tight, 1-1 match turned into a 4-1 victory for SCHA after a late three goal outburst.
Complete brackets can be found on the PAISAA website. Updated schedules will be posted on the website as each team progresses.
