Before my appointment as Assistant Headmaster for Enrollment Management, I served three years as Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Saint Edward’s School in beautiful Vero Beach, Florida. Prior to that, I made my second stop at Hill as Associate Director of Admission, Director of Financial Aid and Head Boys' Hockey Coach from 1996-2004. I started my boarding school career teaching and coaching at The Rectory School in Pomfret, CT and served as an Associate Director of Admission and Co-Director of Admission at Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Wilbraham, MA. I am a 1987 graduate of Hill and third generation in my family to teach and work at Hill. I received a B.A. from Bowdoin College and a M.A. from Villanova University. I am responsible for all admission activities including: directing admission initiatives for the School’s Strategic Plan, developing a strong candidate pool, creating admission marketing materials, interviewing candidates, and representing the school at admission events around the country. I also serve as an adviser to students and as a member of the administrative duty team. I reside on campus in Sheppard House with my wife, Heidi, and daughters, Tatumn and Tanner. In my free time I mostly enjoy being a dad, reading, and following the Red Sox and Patriots.

I joined The Hill's admission office in the summer of 2002, coming from the Westminster School, where I served as the associate director of admission and coached junior varsity girls' lacrosse, varsity girls' field hockey, and varsity girls' squash. A graduate of Trinity College with a B.A. in American studies, I was a collegiate lacrosse All-American and captained Trinity's nationally ranked lacrosse, field hockey, and squash teams. At The Hill, I am a dorm parent in Rolfe Dormitory where I reside with my husband, Jim, and our daughters, Maddie and Libby. I also serve as a coach for the JV girls' lacrosse team. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time at the beach.

Prior to my arrival at The Hill, I was the associate director of admission at Groton School in Massachusetts. In 1999 I graduated from Boston College's Lynch School of Education with a B. A. in human development and a minor in English. While at Boston College, I was a four-year letter winner on their Division I varsity ice hockey team. During my career I won two Hockey East Championships, played in two Frozen Four Championships, and was a two-time All-Norton Team selection. Entering my fifth year as the associate director of admission my responsibilities include searching for prospective candidates from the Midwest, New England, and international students. Along with my duties in the admission office I serve The Hill as the director of financial aid. Outside of the office I am the head coach of the boys' ice hockey program; I live on campus in Senter House in Dell Village with my wife, Lindsay, who teaches English at The Hill, and our sons, Cullen, Quinn, Shea, and Padraig.

I graduated from Amherst College cum laude in 2000 with a degree in political science. My main focus in college was on American politics and law, jurisprudence, and social thought. While at Amherst I held many positions, one of which was as the admission office intern, an experience that eventually would lead me back to the world of admission. Prior to my coming to Hill, I served as an account coordinator at Schneider/Shapiro Communications, a boutique public relations firm in New York City. I am now entering my eighth year at Hill and have worn many hats. I am happy to have accepted the position of Hill Director of Diversity and assume the duties of the Associate Director of Admission. I will continue to travel across the country for the school and look forward to meeting many of you in a city near you. I also serve as a dorm parent in Upper School Dormitory.

Prior to joining the admission office in 2007, I spent six years playing professional ice hockey, including time in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators. My pro career included four seasons in the American Hockey League (two with the Hershey Bears), before finishing with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. I graduated from The Hill 1997, serving as class president, and then spent four years at Harvard University where I earned a B.A. in government before beginning my professional hockey career. After retiring from hockey I became interested in a career in education, and was thrilled to have the opportunity to rejoin The Hill community. My office responsibilities include overseeing our Special Interest Program and coordinating office travel. In addition, I frequently represent Hill at secondary school fairs and regional boarding school events. Outside of the office, I serve as Hill’s Post-graduate coordinator and am an assistant coach for the boys' varsity ice hockey team. I am also a dorm parent in Markle House where I live with my wife Katie, an elementary school teacher, and our two sons, Joshua and Jackson. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and playing golf..
