Compuer labs: virtual and physical spaces  

With laptops and projector-based classrooms, faculty are able to create "virtual spaces" in a broader and global community. The Hill also offers a variety of innovative technology-supported learning environments, including the following laboratories:
The Mcllvain Multimedia Learning Classroom  

Location: Academic Center, Room 201
This lab is used to assist in the teaching of the modern languages of Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. Through the use of specialized equipment made by Sanako and 25 IBM computers, students are taught some of the finer points of speaking these languages. The School's video and audio tape library has been digitized and streamed by a server through the Sanako system, which is used extensively here. Teachers also can interact one-on-one with students or pair students to work together. This wonderful facility was made possible through the generosity of loyal alumnus James E. McIlvain '63 and his late wife, Mary.
Ryan Library Technology Lab  

Location: Ryan Library, Basement
Equipped with 25 Dell computers, the technology lab functions as a versatile teaching space where several different subjects can be taught, including MCSE, digital arts, music theory, introduction to computer science, and drafting. This space also functions as a place for teaching library orientation and research instruction.
