The Hill School has worked with Dell to create a web-based purchasing plan that provides both current technology and good value to families with a four-year repair warranty which covers everything except the battery. Dell also trains Hill School service technicians to repair and replace components of these systems. All support for School-installed software is provided through The Hill.
As noted, Dell has created a special website specifically for The Hill School where families can select the system necessary for Hill students. Printers and additional accessories can also be ordered on this site. When an order is placed, the computer and the systems will be shipped to Hill for pre-installation and other custom setup. In addition to the warranty, we suggest that all families adequately insure their computer against loss or theft, and make sure this coverage can be added as homeowner's or renter's personal property coverage.
CompuTrace, a security tracking software program, is installed on all laptops. If a student's computer is lost or stolen, CompuTrace is activated so that it will send a homing message to a tracking center as soon as it is connected to the Internet. The tracking center then notifies the proper law enforcement personnel.
