Pandemic Preparedness

In response to the possibility of a flu pandemic, The Hill School Health Center monitors regularly the websites of the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov), the World Health Organization (www.who.org), and the newly created official U.S. pandemic website (www.PandemicFlu.gov). The Health Center also receives direct communication from the Pennsylvania Health Department regarding any communicable disease health alerts.

The Health Center will remain attentive not only to the spread of flu pandemics, but to all possible illnesses, anticipating how they might affect The Hill School and how the community might protect itself from exposure. The Health Center has planned for and is prepared for the possibility that a flu pandemic or other such sicknesses could appear in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Please contact the Director of the Health Center, Sandra Ryder, with any questions or to learn more about the school’s preparedness. You may reach her by e-mail at sryder@thehill.org or by phone at 610-705-1217.
