On Saturday afternoon, the great class of 1959 celebrated the dedication of their class gift: a new entranceway to the Hunt Upper School dormitory. Trustee Jay Berman '59 gave thanks to his classmates and Headmaster David Dougherty for supporting the project.
"It is fitting that our class, during this 'historic' 50th reunion year, play a role in this equally historic transition," Jay remarked. "As you know, with the blessing of Headmaster Dougherty, our class decided to pursue this project: an enclosed, bright new entryway for Upper School, a building where most if not all of our class spent formative time, and a place where each year about 100 of today's Hill students will spend one or more of their influential years." Read Jay's speech in it's entirety.
Jay presented a plaque that will adorn the new entryway to Headmaster Dougherty. The plaque reads:
CLASS OF 1959 ENTRYWAY
