Hill School student Kevin Mulquin ’10 has received an early decision acceptance to Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. and will play men’s basketball for the “Big Green.” The 6’8” forward played basketball at Georgetown Prep before coming to The Hill for a post-graduate year. Mulquin was heavily recruited by other schools, even turning down scholarships in order to attend the NCAA Division 1 Ivy League Dartmouth. Mulquin notes, “In looking for a college, I was most interested in finding a strong academic institution with a high level basketball program. Dartmouth satisfies both elements, and I look forward to playing and studying there.”
Hill Head Coach Seth Eilberg has seen Mulquin hone his skills and flourish on the court at Hill. Seth states, “A late bloomer, Kevin’s game has become more fluid and his skills have improved dramatically since this time last year. His athleticism and versatility make him a major threat in a number of ways on the court. His game against Lawrenceville on Dec. 9, 2009 (Hill 78, Lawrenceville 68 in OT) was one of the biggest scoring outputs in recent Hill history with 36 points and 13 rebounds. It was a strong sign of great things ahead.”
Eilberg continues, “Given his work ethic, Kevin certainly will keep improving his skills. He’s a fine young man and committed student, and he has chosen an excellent place to continue his studies and basketball career. We know he’ll represent Hill well at Dartmouth and look forward to cheering his continued successes there, and the remainder of this year at Hill.”
