On Tuesday, April 13, fifth and sixth form students participated in Career Day 2010. The School welcomed 32 alumni, parents, and friends of The Hill who shared their career and life experiences with students.
The day began with a keynote address by Joseph M. Hoeffel, 2010 candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Commissioners, former member of the United States Congress, and proud father of Jake Hoeffel, a member of Hill’s class of 2001. Mr. Hoeffel urged students to strongly consider serving in public office at some point in their lives, noting that "public service is a great way to give back to your community, and fight for what you believe."
Mr Hoeffel also stressed the importance of education, saying, "Many of you won't have just one career and you should get as much education as you can to prepare for the future in this global economy."
After Mr. Hoeffel's address, students and Career Day guests headed off to the Academic Center, Ryan Library, and CFTA where they participated in a series of five break-out sessions.
