Maintenance work on the east and north sides of the Alumni Memorial Chapel began in mid September. Construction will continue for approximately five weeks.
The primary focus of the Chapel project is to renovate and protect the Keith Merrill Memorial Chapel organ. Improvements must be made to the Chapel tower to prevent water damage and deterioration of the beloved organ.
The Chapel organ was installed in 1965 through a gift to The Hill by the Merrill family in memory of Keith Merrill, Hill Class of 1906, former Hill Trustee and loyal supporter of the School. The organ renovation efforts began in the spring of 2009; phase three of the renovation project will continue through this fall.
The Hill reminds students, faculty, staff, and visitors to stay out of fenced areas around the Chapel during this renovation project.
