Hill celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a number of activities, including a community all faith service on Sunday in the Center For The Arts, which was attended by more than 600 members of The Hill and Pottstown communities. Later that evening, students enjoyed a concert featuring both the Princeton University Tigressions and Maurice John Vaughn Blues Band. On Monday, students spent the morning exploring a variety of topics relating to civil rights, justice, and the law. Activities included viewing the film, You Don’t Have to Ride Jim Crow; listening to a talk entitled “What is the Civil Rights Movement?” offered by Hill Instructor of History James B. Reifsnyder; and small group discussions led by Hill faculty. On Wednesday, the varsity wrestling team successfully encouraged fans to come cheer them on as the team faced rival Lawrenceville by handing out free "Hill Wrestling" t-shirts to all those who came to the meet. On Friday, students interested in learning more about The Island School in the Bahamas spoke with current students and alumni who discussed how their experiences at The Island School have impacted their Hill School careers.
