Seven Hill students -- Annie McLaughlin ’11 (Chester Springs, Pa.), Paige Haley ’11 (Limerick, Pa.), Kate Ferrara ’12 (Spring City, Pa.), Julia Donald ’14 (Kimberton, Pa.), Laura Donald ’14 (Kimberton, Pa.), Nicole Morris ’11 (Pottstown, Pa.), and Heather Morris ’13 (Pottstown, Pa.) -- played in the U-16 and U-19 National Indoor Field Hockey Tournament s during their spring break from The Hill. Five of the seven girls were on teams that won their respective games for their pools.
Annie, Paige, Kate, Heather, and Nicole participated in the U-19 tournament that was held March 4- 6, 2011 in Richmond, Va. The tournament featured more than 2,000 girls competing at the U-19 level and playing on 302 teams.
Paige and
Kate both played for the
WC Eagles XI team and won the Pool C Championship. Heather played for the WC Eagles Ruby team and
Nicole played for the WC Eagles Blue team.
Julia and
Laura played in the U-16 tournament that was held March 11-13, 2011 in Virginia Beach, Va. Their team – WC Eagles II – won the
U-16 Pool C Championship.
Celebrating its 27th year, The National Indoor Field Hockey Tournament is the highest level competition for high school field hockey. The event is sponsored by The United States Olympic Committee and features 164 field hockey club teams in the Under-16 and Under-19 Divisions each year.
