The Ryan Library is housed in historic Memorial Hall located in the heart of Hill’s campus on the Quad, and is home to a vibrant collection of print, digital, and media resources. Alexandria, the School’s online catalog, provides access to the Library’s collection of 50,000 print volumes, thousands of e-books including the Gale Virtual Reference Library, and Overdrive, a collection of current fiction and nonfiction titles, along with more than 1,000 DVDs.
The Ryan Library’s website
allows students to search scores of databases covering all subject areas from anywhere and at any time. Research is made easy with “Supersearch” which searches the Library’s catalog and databases at the same time. The Library also provides access to Zinio, a collection of e-magazines; Freegal, a free music streaming service; and a subscription to the online version of the New York Times
for all members of our campus.
The Ryan Library has a variety of study spaces from the quiet of the book-lined Scheerer Reading Room to the buzz of the Moffat Room’s collaborative space. The beautiful, stained-glass windowed Memorial Room, which memorializes those Hill alumni who served in our country’s wars, is located off the main floor of the Library as is the ITS Help Desk. Memorial Hall also is home to The Humphrey Family Writing Center, Levis '45 * Alexandre '75 Center for Humanities,
and The Hill School Archives
. The Library truly is where tradition and innovation meet.
