Coming to The Hill in the summer of 2008 as Director of College Advising, my family and I are returning to a world and lifestyle we have come to appreciate greatly: residential secondary education. Born in the Midwest and raised in North Carolina, I attended Duke University on an A.B. Duke Scholarship and graduated with a degree in history in 1982. After Duke, I started my career in education teaching history and coaching cross country and track at a magnet high school in Raleigh, N.C. The lure of my alma mater was strong, however, and I returned to Duke to work in the Admissions Office, recruiting in New England and North Carolina; overseeing the admissions process for athletic recruits for 22 Duke teams; and administering two important scholarship programs. Unfortunately, as my responsibilities became more administrative in nature, I yearned to have greater contact with students. After being hired as Director of College Counseling at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, I have spent the past 14 years tackling the challenges of the college search and application process from the secondary side. In those 14 years, I have expanded and professionalized offices, contributed to major school curricular restructurings, counseled and advised numerous students about their future educational endeavors, coached (a little bit), and administered students’ dormitory life, all while fully engaged in the profession of college counseling. My various roles during this period afforded me the opportunity to present on a range of admissions-related topics at national and regional conferences and to nurture professional and personal relationships with a wide variety of talented colleagues at both the secondary and collegiate level. After the past two years back in North Carolina directing a day school’s college counseling program, my family and I are eager to return to a community that celebrates intellectual and personal discovery as we feel The Hill does. My wife, Lisa, and I have two children: Sarah (Hill Class of 2012) and Sean (soon-to-be fifth grader). We will reside in Dellwood House, along with Arthur, our Bernese Mountain Dog, and Louie and Mack, our two cats. Send e-mail to Craig Allen. M. Susan Rooney, Secretary to the Director
I have been a member of the College Advising Office since August of 1990. Before coming to The Hill I was a stay-at-home mom, but my previous work experiences included positions at West Chester University, Edinboro University, George Junior Republic, and Sir Speedy Printing. My husband, a former college instructor and coach, and I have five children, and it has been a joy to be able to interact with so many wonderful young people here at The Hill as well. My responsibilities include managing the College Advising Office and dealing with the meetings, deadlines, communication, paperwork, and record-keeping involved with the college admission process. I came to The Hill in 2001 to serve as assistant director of athletics and instructor of mathematics. I graduated from Haverford College in 1996, where I studied economics with a mathematics concentration. I worked for two years at the Millbrook School in New York, teaching math and coaching basketball and tennis. In 2001, I graduated with an M. Ed. from Tufts University, where I also worked as the assistant men's basketball coach. I currently serve as the Associate Director of College Advising, head coach of the varsity boys' basketball team, postgraduate coordinator, and a dorm parent in Foster dormitory, where I reside with my wife, Donna; son, Graham; and daughters, Sadie and Gracie. Send e-mail to Seth Eilberg. Allyson Diljohn, Assistant Director of College Advising
After growing up in Norristown, Pa., I decided to venture south to attend Wake Forest University. While there I majored in communication with minors in Spanish and chemistry. As an undergraduate student I worked closely with the Admissions Office during various recruiting events and as a tour guide. Prior to joining The Hill community, I spent two years as an Admissions Counselor at Wake Forest, primarily working with students and schools in North Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic States. Despite the great weather in North Carolina, I gladly welcomed the opportunity to return to Southeastern Pennsylvania. In my free time I enjoy college football, community service, and learning tidbits of trivia. Send e-mail to Allyson Diljohn. Morgana Schlick, Director of Testing

I received my B.S. in psychology from Chestnut Hill College and later acquired my teaching certification with honors from Alvernia College. Over the years I have established myself as a highly successful science educator and Science Department Chairperson. I have written educational material for NASA education outreach and have presented my material at Pennsylvania state science conventions. In addition to teaching, I performed other roles in student crisis intervention, curriculum alignment, and state performance assessment. I also taught Catholic catechism for many years at my local parish. Born in Milan, Italy, I moved to NYC when I was a little girl. My family later moved to Pottstown to start a family business. I speak fluent Italian and have served as an interpreter on numerous occasions. I am delighted to join The Hill family with my husband, Frederick (class of ’84), who teaches science; our three children, Frederick ’10, Isabelle ’11, and Anneliese; and our two Shelties, Merlin and Gwen. Coming back to Pottstown in 2006 with my family has been truly serendipitous and gratifying. Send e-mail to Morgana Schlick .
