About Pottstown

The Hill School is located in the Borough of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Rich in history and culture, Pottstown offers students, residents, faculty, and visitors a variety of opportunities for dining, entertainment, shopping, and recreation. Whether it's eating a slice of pizza across the street at Little Italy's, taking a walk to pick up coffee and donuts on a weekend, or indulging in a homemade cupcake from Beverly's Pastry Shop before enjoying a performance at the Steel River Playhouse, or visiting the historic Carousel, Hill School students don't have to travel far to have fun.

While our surrounding neighborhood offers many opportunities for our students, The Hill also is convenient to major Pennsylvania cities (one hour from Philadelphia and approximately 30 minutes from the Lehigh Valley and Reading). New York City and Baltimore, Maryland are approximately two hours away by car or bus. The proximity of campus to these major U.S. cities provides our students with unlimited cultural possibilities for classroom learning experiences and weekend activities. Students enjoy trips to the Philadelphia Art Museum, Adventure Aquarium, major sporting events, Broadway shows, great restaurants, shopping malls, and more. Our location also allows students to engage in meaningful community service right here in our town.

Students and faculty support Pottstown during a community service project.

Hobart's Run

In 2015, the School launched Hobart’s Run, a collaborative neighborhood improvement initiative to create a clean, safe, and inclusive community; strengthen Pottstown residential development; and generate positive, sustainable commercial and retail development.

With unique stores, a growing variety of distinctive restaurants, and many other businesses investing in our community, there are many positive revitalization efforts underway in Pottstown!
