In 2018, The Hill School Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee voted to move from an annual induction cycle to an every-other-year timeframe centered around The Hill vs. Lawrenceville Weekend. In this new format, the Hall of Fame selection process occurs during years when the rivalry weekend takes place in New Jersey, and the induction ceremony is held the night prior to Hill hosting the next chapter of the longstanding rivalry.
The COVID-19 global pandemic caused the School to cancel all on-campus events for the 2020-2021 academic year. Accordingly, the Hall of Fame induction ceremony was to be done virtually in November 2020, on the same evening it was originally scheduled to take place on campus.
In mid-September, the Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) announced that all fall dates and venues from the 2020 league schedule, which was cancelled, would be transferred to 2021, meaning Hill will host The Hill vs. Lawrenceville Weekend in November 2021. In consideration of this change, the School will now hold the ceremony on campus on the Friday evening before The Hill vs. Lawrenceville games in November 2021.
Moving forward, the Hall of Fame will continue its every-other-year selection process in concurrence with The Hill vs. Lawrenceville home and away cycle. Therefore, the next selection process will take place during the 2022-23 academic year for an induction ceremony that will occur in the fall of 2023.
