The Hill School is happy to announce that Jennifer (Hee Won) Kang ’10 was appointed to the Board of Trustees effective July 1, 2022. The Hill School Board of Trustees met on campus for its spring session at the end of April 2022. In addition to Ms. Kang's appointment, the Board voted in Michael Harris '84 P'22 as the new Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, and named Peter Humphrey '72 P'02 an Honorary Trustee for his 20 years of service and leadership upon his retirement from the Board.
Jennifer (Hee Won) Kang '10 Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Ms. Kang was a four-year student at Hill, along with her brother, Tyler ’15. Following her time at Hill, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a B.A. in political science. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City and began working at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a financial services risk and technology consultant providing advisory services to global financial institutions and fintechs. Between 2019 and 2021, Ms. Kang earned her M.B.A. from Yale University, after which she returned to PricewaterhouseCoopers to resume her career in consulting in New York. Prior to joining the Board, Ms. Kang had been a member of The Hill School’s Board of Visitors and served as the Professional and Education Development Co-Chair of The Hill Alumnae Society. She also serves as a Class Secretary. She will serve as a member of the Admission and College Counseling; Budget and Finance; and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees.
Michael W. Harris '84 P'22 Mr. Harris joined the Board of Trustees in 2012. He is chair of both the Hobart's Run and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committees, and a member of the Campus Planning, Executive, Finance-Budget, and Strategy Management Committees. Mr. Harris is a managing director for The PFM Group, where he oversees the firm’s strategic market development efforts. He founded PFM’s Structured Products Group, where he led the development and implementation of innovative investment and asset/liability management strategies. He is a nationally recognized expert in the structuring and procurement of financial products. Throughout his career, Mr. Harris has served in leadership positions on community and industry boards and interest groups working on educational and career opportunities for underprivileged students and access to healthcare for underserved populations. Mr. Harris earned his B.A. in economics and political science from the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Harrisburg, Pa. with his wife, Tanya, and their two daughters.
For the last 20 years, Peter G. Humphrey '72 P’02, chair of the Budget-Finance Committee, has loyally and ably served as a Trustee for The Hill. To recognize Peter’s years of service and in celebration of his retirement from the Board on June 30, a special dinner was held in his honor on Friday, April 29. During the dinner, the Trustees bestowed upon him the distinction of Honorary Trustee.
