Claudia Lamarca Appointed Head Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Coach

On Wednesday, May 25, Hill School Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities Seth Eilberg P'22 '23 '25 introduced Claudia Lamarca as the School’s new Head Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Coach. Lamarca joins The Hill from Souderton Area High School where she has served as a school counselor and the head girls’ lacrosse coach for the past three years. She is a 2017 graduate of Monmouth University where she was captain of the Division 1 Women’s Lacrosse Team.

“I am very excited for the future of Hill Girls’ Lacrosse under Coach Lamarca’s leadership,” notes Eilberg. “We have a deep and talented core of returners who are poised to build on a strong foundation of championship success.”

“In every conversation I have had about her over the past month, Coach Lamarca has been consistently lauded for her strong relational leadership style and for being the consummate teammate. Her passion for lacrosse and supporting others has distinguished her playing and coaching career,” continues Eilberg. “She understands what it will take to help our Hill girls prepare for success at the next level, both on and off the field. The players who met Coach Lamarca during the search process felt an immediate and strong connection with her, and they look forward to getting on the field with her!”

A West Long Branch, New Jersey native, Lamarca was a three-sport varsity athlete at Shore Regional High School, excelling on the lacrosse field as well as on the soccer and basketball teams. In lacrosse, she earned First Team All-Shore Conference honors as a senior and helped lead her team to a Shore Conference Championship as a freshman.

While at Monmouth University, Lamarca was a four-year starter at midfield and two-year captain for the team, which advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament every season during her career. Additionally, she was named a MAAC Rookie of the Week twice during her freshman year. Lamarca graduated from Monmouth in 2017 with a B.A. in communications, with a minor in information technology. She continued her education at Monmouth, earning an M.A. in science in educational counseling.

Lamarca has had a successful coaching career at Souderton, leading her team to the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District 1 Tournament this year, and to the second round in 2021.

In addition to coaching at Souderton, Lamarca has served as the head coach of the All-Lax LLC 2024 summer team from 2018 through 2020. She also has coached for Triple Threat Elite Lacrosse (T3Lacrosse), known as Jersey Shore Select, and United Lacrosse. During the summer of 2019, she served as an assistant coach for the New Jersey team at the Under Armor All-American Tournament in Maryland where she had the opportunity to work with some of the best freshmen in the state, against some of the best players in the nation.

“I am extremely honored and excited to have been named the new head coach of the girl's lacrosse program at The Hill School,” states Lamarca.

“I would like to thank Head of School Zack Lehman and the rest of the search committee for affording me this incredible opportunity to be a part of such an impressive and reputable school,” Lamarca notes. “I am looking forward to continuing the growth and success of the program and am eager to begin working with the very talented group of players we have at Hill.”

In addition to her coaching role, Lamarca will serve as Hill’s Director of Student Activities and live on campus with her fiancé, Tim Brown.

Lamarca replaces Mo Gaitan, who has led Hill’s program since 2018 and has recently accepted a position as the Director of Athletics and Afternoon Programs at the Pomfret School in Connecticut. Lamarca is eager to build upon the already strong foundation of Hill Lacrosse with an experienced and talented coaching staff, including assistant coaches Mckenna Edwards and Samantha Walther.
