Hill enters the invitational with an overall record of 5-0 ranked 14th nationally in the September 17 MAX poll, up three spots from the previous week's poll in which the program received its first-ever national ranking (MAX Field Hockey national rankings began in 2014).  In the opening game of the season, Hill defeated an Episcopal Academy team which was ranked fourth nationally, 3-2.  In the next game, a defensively resilient Cardinal O’Hara team limited Hill to one goal, but in the team’s past three games Hill has outscored its opponents by a combined margin of 20-2.

Sacred Heart Academy is ranked 18th nationally in the September 17 poll with an overall record of 11-1, and an undefeated St. John’s School is ranked fifth in the West/Mid-West regional poll.
