On Tuesday, March 19, six Hill students competed in the Montgomery County Science Research Competition (MCSRC) at Germantown Academy. These six students are part of the School's Science Research Club, advised by Jared Courtney, Dean of the Shirley Quadrivium Center which has met weekly through the fall and winter term. The MCSRC is the first step in the process to potentially qualify for the 2024 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The MCSRC is the qualifying competition for the Delaware Valley Science Fair (DVSF), which takes place on April 3. Placing in the top three for one's graduation year at DVSF means qualification for ISEF. Last year, Hill sent two students, Yvonne Bao '25 and Billy Chen '25, to ISEF in May.
All six Hill students placed in the top three for their category in the MCSRC, which means that they all have the chance to compete at the DVSF. Each of these students also won a "special award" at the MCSRC, which usually equates with a small cash prize. Those students are:
- Encheng Wang '26: Engineering
- Yina Yao '25: Chemistry
- Yvonne Bao '25: Computer Science
- Billy Chen '25: Engineering
- Leo Luo '25: Engineering
- Abhi Siripurapu '25: Medicine & Health
