Hill Welcomes Newest Members of the Board of Trustees

The Hill School Board of Trustees met virtually for its fall session Sept. 25-26, 2020. In addition to committee meetings, the Board unanimously elected Tracy Steele P'20 and Max Zhang '09 to serve on the Board of Trustees. Congratulations, Tracy and Max!

Tracy Steele P'20

Tracy Steele P'20 is both a Member of Ferro Steele, LLC, a business transactions law firm, and serves as Deputy General Counsel of CenterSquare Investment Management LLC, a real estate private equity firm.  Prior thereto, Ms. Steele was a partner in the Philadelphia office of the international law firm, Morgan Lewis.  While practicing full-time, she served as the office hiring partner for six years in addition to running the office’s women’s initiative.  Ms. Steele graduated from Sweet Briar College, cum laude, with a B.A. degree in both mathematics and economics.  She received her J.D. degree from The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University where she served as president of the Student Bar Association and was awarded the American Bar Association Student Bar Association of the Year Award.  Ms. Steele is a member of The Forum of Executive Women, CREW Philadelphia, the Leadership Council of The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, and the Dickinson Law Association.  Ms. Steele resides in Montgomery County with her husband, Kevin Steele, the Montgomery County District Attorney, and has three children (Addie ’20, Ainsley, and Grayson).

Max Zhang '09

Max Zhang '09 grew up in Nanjing, China, and arrived at The Hill as the School’s very first student from mainland China. Mr. Zhang graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., magna cum laude, in 2013 with a B.A. in international relations and a concentration in political economy. Seeing opportunities in China’s vast and fast-growing education industry, Mr. Zhang returned to Shanghai to start his career in China’s largest education service provider New Oriental Education & Technology Group. He became the youngest member of the core leadership team in New Oriental Shanghai in five years. In 2018, Mr. Zhang followed his entrepreneurial drive to join Shang Learning International Education Group as a partner to open an office in Shanghai. Mr. Zhang firmly believes in the transformational power of a boarding school experience, and he made it his mission to spearhead the establishment of an educational consultancy with a group of like-minded partners and professionals. After the firm’s merger with another educational consultancy NancyFriends in 2020, he is now one of the founding partners at the new company, Shang NancyFriends. Mr. Zhang is excited to advance Hill’s vision forward to be a pioneering educational institution in the increasingly global world.
