Hill’s Jazz Ensemble to Participate in the Get JazzED Doc Mulligan Festival

On Sunday, April 7, 2019, The Hill School Jazz Ensemble will head to the nearby Miller Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College for this year’s Get JazzED Doc Mulligan Festival. This event is open to the public and Hill Arts and the Jazz Ensemble would love to have your support.

Admission is $10/adult and $5/student, cash only payable at the door. The High School Festival begins at 6:00 p.m. In addition to Hill, participating schools include Governor Mifflin, Reading, Pottstown, Tulpehocken, and Manheim Township.

This festival is a celebration of jazz music and the students who create it. Each band will be evaluated in various aspects of jazz performance by three judges. Ratings of Superior, Excellent or Very Good will be given. Awards will be given to one Outstanding Ensemble, one Outstanding Soloist, several Soloists of Note, and Outstanding Sections.

Adjudicators for both events are Marko Marcinko/percussion, Roger Morgan/brass, and Albert Rivera/woodwinds.
