The Hill School announces Mike Boyer as the School’s new Associate Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the 2022 football season. With more than 25 years of experience as a football coach and educator, Coach Boyer joins The Hill most recently from Albright College in Reading, Pa., where he has served as an Assistant Football Coach for the past 13 years.

“We are very excited to welcome Coach Boyer to Hill,” notes Eilberg. “His vast experience working with student-athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels, his far-reaching network and football connections, and his passion for education-based athletics will allow him to have a significant impact on our players and coaches in all areas of program development.”

“Coach Boyer has a proven track record of coaching winning football, and of serving as a meaningful mentor to his players,” continues Eilberg. “Our players who met Coach Boyer in our search process commented on the connection they already felt, and I know they are looking forward to getting out on the field with him.”

During his tenure at Albright, Coach Boyer helped lead the team to a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) title in 2015, where they advanced to the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) playoffs. In 2016, Albright secured a MAC-Centennial Bowl Championship title, and, in 2017, the team earned a slot in the MAC-Centennial Bowl for a second straight season.

From 2002-07, Coach Boyer was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at nearby Boyertown Area High School. In 2006, the team clinched their first league championship in school history when they won the Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC) 10 championship. That same year, the offensive unit recorded the most points ever under Coach Boyer’s leadership.

Prior to his time at Boyertown Area High School, Coach Boyer was the Offensive Coordinator and Running Backs Coach at Exeter Senior High School from 1994-1998. The team won the league championship in 1997 and they were first team in school history to qualify for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District 3 playoffs.

Head Football Coach Orlando Patterson is looking forward to Coach Boyer joining his experienced and dedicated coaching staff which includes assistant coaches, Kevin Tkachuk, Ernest Higginbotham, Gavin Harter, and Jay Williams.

“The Hill Football Family is very excited to have Coach Boyer join us,” states Patterson. “He brings a wealth of experience on the offensive side of the ball. With more than a decade of coaching at the collegiate level, Coach Boyer will have an immediate impact with our guys. The players and staff are excited to get to work with him.”

After graduating from Kutztown University in 2006 with a B.S. in Citizenship and History, Coach Boyer taught in area public school for seven years while coaching. He currently is pursuing his Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at Albright College. In addition to his role as Hill’s Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, he will serve as a College Counselor and Assistant Baseball Coach.

"The Hill is truly a special place" notes Coach Boyer. “My family and I are extremely blessed to be joining The Hill School community.”
