Hill School and Pottstown Softball Teams Come Together for the Third Annual “Two Teams, One Town” Initiative

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 4 p.m., The Hill School and Pottstown High School varsity softball teams will play a non-league game at The Hill School’s Jim Long Field, which will serve as a fundraiser for the "Two Teams, One Town" initiative. All funds raised from “Two Teams, One Town” will directly benefit local student-athletes by subsidizing pitching or catching lessons, travel or recreational softball fees, collegiate scholarships, softball clinic fees, as well as other approved softball-related fees.

In addition to the fundraising component, the teams have also organized an equipment drive to collect used and/or new bats and gloves through the end of May.

"We would like to thank those who have supported the cause the last two years," says Hill Head Softball Coach Jon McKee P'17. "The event has been very successful, and the equipment donations and monetary gifts have been key in providing resources to the youth in the Pottstown area who aspire to reach their softball goals."

"I think this event with The Hill School really allows the schools to show a united front for their softball programs," Pottstown High School's Director of Co-Curricular Activities Justin Baker explains. "From wearing the event shirts together to getting local businesses to support the initiative, both teams want to do their part to better promote their programs and the sport of softball."

Monetary and equipment donations to the “Two Teams, One Town” campaign may be made at the game on May 14 or by contacting Pottstown High School Softball Head Coach Beth Yoder at Eyoder@pottstownk12.org or Hill Softball Head Coach Jon McKee at jmckee@thehill.org. All checks can be made out to Pottstown High School Softball with "Two Teams, One Town" as the memo line.
