Thirty-one Hill School students traveled to Hershey, Pa. to compete in the DECA State Career Development Conference (SCDC) from February 19-21, 2025. DECA prepares students for careers in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, and business management. PA SCDC had a record-setting number of participants this year with more than 3,800 competitors from the 12 districts, which are made up of more than 80 schools throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
After a day of competition, six students advanced to the semi-finals on Thursday evening.

After another round of role-playing and presentations, Ryan McClellan qualified as a finalist to compete at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida in April. The ICDC hosts more than 23,000 students from the U.S. as well as Canada, Australia, China, Germany, India, Mexico, Poland, Spain, and Vietnam.
Each chapter also was awarded a medallion for the person with the highest test score, highest role play one score, and highest role play two score. These awards went to:
