How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in The Hill School! The information on this page outlines the application timeline and process, including testing requirements. All completed applications are due on January 31, 2026. Applications received after that date will be considered as space permits.

Admission Timeline:

September 15, 2025 – January 31, 2026: Admission Interviews available and testing requirements must be fulfilled. Schedule your interview here.

January 15, 2026: Financial aid applications due. Learn more about applying for financial aid.

January 31, 2026: Deadline to complete admission application. See below for details.

March 10, 2026: Admission decisions released.

April 10, 2026: Enrollment contracts due.

Completed applications received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis. Decisions for these applications will be made on a rolling basis.

Online Application

Complete your application using Gateway to Prep Schools or the Standard Application Online (SAO). Applicants will then receive an email with a link to their Hill online account which will enable them to track the status of their application and receive an admission decision.

Testing Requirements:

  • Third and Fourth Form (9th and 10th grade) Applicants: Students are required to submit SSAT, ISEE, or PSAT scores.
     
  • Fifth and Sixth Form (11th and 12th grade) and Post-Graduate Applicants: PSAT, SAT, ACT, or SSAT testing is required.
     
  • International Students: In addition to the SSAT, the TOEFL and/or DUOLINGO exam is required for all international students for whom English is not their first language, with the exception of applicants who have attended an American school and/or international school for the last three years.
     
  • Please email scores to admission@thehill.org.

Teacher Recommendations:

English, math, and counselor (or principal) recommendations are required. We prefer these recommendations come from current year teachers.
