Testing Requirements:

Third and Fourth Form (9th and 10th grade) Applicants:

We strongly encourage students to submit SSAT, ISEE, or PSAT scores. If accessibility is an issue, we can waive the testing requirement. Please speak with your interviewer or contact Kim Marburger at for more information about testing. Admissions decisions will not be adversely affected if testing is not submitted. Note: If a student is not submitting testing, a third academic recommendation is strongly suggested.

Fifth and Sixth Form (11th and 12th grade) and Post-Graduate Applicants:

PSAT, SAT, ACT, or SSAT testing is required. Scores from preceding two years are also acceptable.

International Students:

In addition to the SSAT, the TOEFL exam is required for all international students for whom English is not their first language, with the exception of applicants who have attended an American school and/or international school for the last three years.

Teacher Recommendation Requirements:

English, math, and counselor recommendations are required. We prefer these recommendations come from current year teachers, but we will accept recommendations from the 2019-2020 school year if this year’s teachers are not available. If a student is not able to submit testing, providing a third academic recommendation (available soon on SAO, Gateway, and Hill applications) is strongly suggested.

An interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about you. An interview with a Hill School admission representative is required for all applicants. We will offer on-campus (limited availability) and virtual interview options this year.
