International Student FAQs

The Hill accepts students for September enrollment only. Our deadline for applying for first-round admission is January 31, 2024. After this date, admission to The Hill School is on a space-available basis. Decisions are made on a rolling basis until the available positions for each form (grade) are filled. Interested applicants should follow the application instructions available here. Due to the increase in applications to The Hill, we discourage sending additional information such as certificates, letters of achievement, artwork, and videos as supplements. Please use part two of the application to highlight your recent achievements.

Third and Fourth Form (9th and 10th grade) Applicants: 

Students are required to submit SSAT, ISEE, or PSAT scores.

Fifth and Sixth Form (11th and 12th grade) and Post-Graduate Applicants: 

PSAT, SAT, ACT, or SSAT testing is required.

International Students:

In addition to the SSAT, the TOEFL exam is required for all international students for whom English is not their first language, with the exception of applicants who have attended an American school and/or international school for the last three years.

International applicants are welcome to apply for financial aid, but please be aware that The Hill does not typically award financial aid to international students.

All students are required to leave campus on all school breaks by traveling home or staying with a friend or family member in the U.S. If a student is not able to make these arrangements, the School will do its best to match international students with local host families. Please contact International Student and Family Support Manager Helen Qiu at hqiu@thehill.org or 610-705-1279.
