Why do you volunteer for The Hill? I volunteer for The Hill because I am proud to be an alumna and want to give back to a school that has given so much to me. I am eternally grateful for my Hill ties and volunteering is a way for me to show my gratitude.
Why did you start the Nashville Chapter? I always love the opportunity to come together with other Hill alumni and to hear stories from their time at Hill. I was at an alumni event in Denver prior to my move to Nashville and asked if there was an alumni chapter in Nashville. When Shelley said there was not, I knew I had to start one - and the rest is history!
What’s your favorite Hill alumni event that you’ve attended? I love attending our class reunion(s). I have not missed one yet, and am already looking forward to the next. I love coming back to campus, staying in our old dorms, seeing familiar faces, and reminiscing with former teachers. It always feels good to come "home."
What advice do you have for alumni volunteers? If you are thinking about getting involved, I encourage you to stop thinking and to dive in. You wont regret it. Any and all help makes a difference, as we all contribute to the continued greatness of Dear Old Hill.
