The Arts

The Hill School's dance program is expanding and growing as it enters its fourth year as an arts course. Led by Laura Johnson, a prominent local dance instructor, interested dancers of all levels and abilities may take the Introduction to Dance course.

Dancers explore two different techniques each term throughout the school year, which include ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and hip hop. Each term culminates with a performance opportunity in the form of a dance recital. Classes are conducted in Hill’s beautifully furnished dance studio.

Students who take the course will gain skills in coordination, flexibility, movement memory and vocabulary, and stage direction. Additionally, each dancer can explore their own choreographic pursuits through independent study projects.
