
Athletic Training
The Hill School’s Certified Athletic Trainers are medical professionals who specialize in athletic healthcare and work with all Hill students. Utilizing current research, educational knowledge, and evidence-based practice, they work collaboratively with our Wellness Center, orthopedists, and other local healthcare providers to provide the best possible medical care.
The key functions of our athletic trainers include:
Injury Prevention: Education on proper techniques, implementation of preventative warm-ups and activities, protective equipment, monitoring environmental factors, promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviors
Emergency Care: Providing immediate emergency and first aid care
Assessment & Diagnosis: Evaluating injuries, diagnosing and referring appropriately
Therapeutic Intervention – Treatment and care of injuries, wounds, and skin conditions
Rehabilitation: Developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation programs ranging from short to long-term and even pre- and post-surgical needs
Wellness Promotion: Providing education on nutrition, hydration and other aspects of overall health and wellness
Return To Activity: Returning students to activity as quickly and safely as possible

Our Facilities
The Athletic Training Room (located in The Hill School’s Athletic Building, adjacent to the Equipment Room and Gillison Gymnasium) is equipped with six treatment tables, six taping stations, whirlpools, therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, a hydrocollator, Game Ready cryo-compression units, Normatec Recovery boots, and rehabilitative equipment.The athletic trainers provide expert care at all home games and school-sanctioned practices. They have built excellent relationships in the surrounding community to allow for easy access to leading emergency care, orthopedists, and concussion specialists. Hill's athletic trainers also serve as clinical preceptors within West Chester University’s Master's of Science in Athletic Training Program.
