The Hill School is pleased to announce that Kris Donaldson, currently serving as the interim head boys’ varsity soccer coach, will officially take on the head coach role in the upcoming fall season. Donaldson stepped into the position last year as interim head coach, having served as the assistant coach under Wyatt Fabian '14 from 2021-2023. He will continue his work in Hill’s Office of Institutional Giving, teach AP Economics, and coordinate Hill’s Financial Literacy Program.

“I am very confident that he will continue to advance our boys’ soccer program and provide our student-athletes with an exceptional independent school soccer experience,” Wilbur C. Riley Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities Seth Eilberg P'22 '23 '25 notes.

A Jamaican native, Donaldson started his collegiate soccer career at San Jose State University (Top 50 Division I program) for one season. He then transferred to Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) where he double majored in finance and accounting. While at TJU, Donaldson started on the men’s soccer team as the team’s goalkeeper and was named to the All-Academic Team for three consecutive years. He was awarded All-Conference and Goalkeeper of the Season honors while playing for TJU. In addition to his collegiate endeavors, he played for the Jamaican U-17 and U-23 National Team.

As an assistant coach at Hill, Donaldson helped lead the team to two Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) titles. He played a pivotal role in guiding numerous student-athletes towards continuing their athletic pursuits at prestigious collegiate institutions and helped foster a program that not only values teamwork but also consistently achieves excellence in athletics and academics.

"I am elated that Hill has put their trust in me to lead this program as head coach,” Donaldson remarks. “This team has been an integral part of my life for the past three years and I look forward to creating more lasting memories and relationships.”

Donaldson will continue to build Hill’s boys’ soccer program while cultivating a sense of belonging within the team. He noted that Hill Soccer is “much more than what is played between the white lines” and hopes to maintain the tradition he’s helped to nurture with his players.

“I want to thank Hill Soccer student-athletes and families (past and present) and The Hill School Athletics staff and leadership team for their continued support and trust,” Donaldson says on his appointment as head coach.
