Whenever The Hill boys’ soccer team had a set piece in the final third during the 2016, 2017, or 2018 seasons, there was a high probability that Euan Forrest ’19 would be the player standing over the ball.  Forrest’s deft touch and his ability to serve both driven and floated balls with precision ensured that one of his services often would lead to a scoring opportunity for The Hill.

His set piece acumen also resulted in Forrest being a primary free kick taker for his Lehigh Valley United club team.  In extra time of the 19U national title game between LVU and two-time defending champion Baltimore Celtic, Forrest found himself standing over a free kick in Baltimore territory.  His service found Patrick Adams ’18, also his teammate at Lehigh University, who flicked the ball toward the far post.  Seconds later, the ball was in the back of the net and Lehigh Valley had clinched its first national title since 2013.

Forrest and Adams are two of four current or former Hill School players on the LVU team; Hale Lombard ’19 (Lafayette College) and Zach Barrett ’20 also are on the team, and assistant Hill coach Sid Forrest is the LVU assistant coach/team manager.  Barrett will serve as a team co-captain at Hill this fall.
