Hill Boys’ Indoor Track and Field captain Jake Voynar '23 will represent The Hill School at the 2023 Nike Indoor Nationals at The Armory in New York City on March 10-12, 2023.

At the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association (PTFCA) Indoor State Championship on February 26, Voynar placed 4th in the state of Pennsylvania during the Long Jump with a leap of 21'10.5". This feat automatically qualified him for the Nike Indoor National competition with approximately 23 other top jumpers.

“Jake was an incredibly consistent athlete for us this indoor season, rarely deviating from his personal records on a meet-to-meet basis,” Track and Field Head Coach William Yinger '95 says.

“He is one of those rare athletes that is always asking to do more rather than looking to limit his exposure.”

During the 2022-23 indoor season, Voynar filled in as a runner in the 55m, 200m, and the 4x400m events when needed. He also took up Triple Jump during mid-season and proved to be successful at it.

Coach Yinger has high hopes for Voynar in this competition. “I know that Jake is capable of great things, including making the final for Emerging Elite if he jumps as well as I know he can” says Yinger. “I look forward to seeing what he can do on the big stage moving forward, including next year at the collegiate level.” he says.

After graduating from Hill, Voynar plans to continue his athletic career at the University of Vermont.
