Campus Life
December 10 to 16, 2018

It was a busy weekend here at The Hill School! On Friday evening, students and faculty - including the wrestling team and coaches - volunteered at a party at the Olivet Boys and Girls Club/ Rickett’s Club sponsored by Hobart’s Run. Hill School fourth form students purchased gifts for the 45 children in attendance who also enjoyed food, face-painting, karaoke, and gingerbread house and ornament making among other activities. The community holiday festivities continued on Saturday at the 35th annual Children's Holiday Project and party for foster and other local families. About 450 people -- and more than 300 children -- gathered for food, presentation of gifts donated through Angel Trees placed throughout the community, a magic show, and other activities, including face painting by Hill School students and faculty volunteers.

Meanwhile, on campus on Friday evening during enrichment time, while some students attended club meetings or spent time studying, other students got creative in our Wood Shop. The boys' basketball team competed in the 49th annual David H. Mercer Invitational, held here on campus Friday through Sunday. The Blues made it to the championship game on Sunday and defeated Canterbury School 69-67! It is the first time in the tournament’s 49-year history that Hill has won three-consecutive tournament championships.

On Saturday morning, we welcomed prospective students and families to campus for a Football Open House. On Sunday, a group of students enjoyed a trip to Dubu (near Philadelphia), where they dined on traditional Korean food.
