Wellness Center FAQs

Each student is required to carry health insurance that covers full care in Pennsylvania. Please call your insurance carrier to ensure that your child’s present insurance plan provides coverage in Pennsylvania.  If the plan does not provide full coverage in Pennsylvania, please discuss with your insurance company the possibility of obtaining a rider to cover your child in Pennsylvania during the school months. If coverage in Pennsylvania is not an option through your current insurance policy, please contact Mrs. Dawn Norman at dnorman@thehill.org regarding options.

Health Forms are due July 15. There is a late fee of $250 for students who have not completed health forms by July 15.

Use the secure patient portal in Medicat, the electronic health record, to fill out and upload health forms.  Visit https://hillschool.medicatconnect.com. 

It is important to the campus health of The Hill School that community members are vaccinated against COVID-19. We have the opportunity to unite through vaccination to limit disease, to the extent possible,  among our community members. Therefore, it is the expectation that every eligible member of The Hill School community will have received the primary series vaccination against COVID-19. As stated in our School song:  Back of each, the strength of all.

Exceptions may be made in the following circumstances:

1. Medical contraindications to vaccination as advised by the student's primary care provider;
2. Long-standing sincerely held religious objections;
3. Philosophical objection.

A student granted an exemption may necessarily be recognized by others in the community as being unvaccinated.  It is not the intention of the School to make vaccination status known or to allow vaccination status to be known.  However, it is not possible to ensure complete privacy regarding vaccine status in all circumstances. On rare occasion, to ensure operation of the School, vaccination status may need to be shared with select Hill employees and students on a "need-to-know" basis. The family assumes this risk as well.

Please complete the COVID-19 Form in the Medicat patient portal on the "Forms" tab to indicate your student's status regarding the COVID-19 vaccination.

The flu shot is required for all students. With rare exception, exemptions are permitted for medical contraindication, sincerely held religious beliefs, or philosophical objections. Please see the “Influenza Vaccine Information and Consent” form on the patient portal for more details.

Please refer to the medication policy in the Handbook and the “Medication Administration Authorization and Release” on the patient portal.

The Wellness Center is open 24 hours each day while school is in session. Your child may walk in at any time. Between 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., your child needs to call Security at 610-327-3060 for an escort.

Your child will be evaluated and stabilized on campus by the Wellness Center and/or Athletic Training staff and then transported as necessary to the Pottstown Hospital Tower Health Emergency Department or other local or regional hospital. If the injury occurs away from campus at an athletic or school-related event, a Hill employee supervising the activity will accompany your student to the nearest hospital for further care.
