All LRP Students: Performers and Disordered Eating | January 2021

All athletes attending the Low Residency Program (LRP) participated in a workshop given my Ms. Roethling, LPC, LAT, ACS and Maris Degener who is an advocate for disordered eating amongst teens. The goal of this workshop was for athletes to recognize red flags of disordered eating behaviors, address the pressure to be thin both as an athlete and within society, as well as time for question and answer. Students sent 48 questions ahead of the presentation which led to a engaging discussion.

Third Form: Texxxting Etiquette | November 2020

In November students participated in the High Achieving School Survey, an evidence based tool that allows the School to know what contributing factors in the areas of; parent, peer relationship, and school climate; are clinically significant to the levels of anxiety and depression in our students. We learned that the fallout from sexting behaviors among Hill students are directly related. The Family Online Safety Institute has great resources for learning how to talk to your teen about this topic. The Hill school has supplemented education in Eudemonia and to athletes attending the low residency program to raise awareness on the impact of sexting behaviors. Additionally, prefect training is taking place that will roll out in the spring that will be held during family night, as well as an advisory discussion to keep the conversation going. Remember it takes teen to hear something form five different sources before it sinks in! Attached is a flyer on tips on this topic for you as a parent to be an additional source. For an additional resource on how to talk to your teen about sexting, view the post below "Texting Safety with your Teen".
